Every day I read three blogs pretty religiously.  They are in no particular order JohnChowDotCom, Shoemoney and the Huffington Post.

Yesterday I saw some visual vomit from The Huffington Post.  Why in the world do we have “celebrities” guest write on one of the most read blogs is beyond me other than the fact that a celebrity might bring some site traffic and Michael Acord doesn’t.

Russell Simons – “I was inspired by the President’s nomination of Justice Sonia Sotomayor for a seat on the Supreme Court. Yet, in the afternoon I was deeply saddened by the decision made by the California Supreme Court upholding Proposition 8.”

Rob Thomas – “It all started when I had made the mistake of asking why two people of the same sex shouldn’t be able to make the same life-long commitment and (more importantly) under the same god, as straight people. Why can’t my gay friends be as happily married as my wife and I?”

I have no clue what Russell meant by “inspired and saddened.”  Do what you do best and find yourself another hot chick and don’t bother us with your double points.  Russell you can speak and some will listen but Rob you and I are in the same boat.  There are only a handful of people who know who we are.

With that being said, the republic of California voted.  That means that the people of California voted and they said “yes” to Prop 8.  If a court overturns the vote of the people, this opens a whole new mess and both political parties will waste a lot of tax payer money we don’t have fighting who’s right and who’s wrong.

Boys, don’t blame our country, the constitution, those damn religious groups or the Jonas Brothers.  If your trying to place blame, blame your fellow statesman they are the ones who voted, not me.

Where do I stand on the issue of Gay Marriage?  I don’t have one, I’m not gay.  It’s like asking me “Michael what is your view on abortion?”

I don’t have one, I’m a guy and the last time I checked I don’t have a vagina.

I heard this news broadcast 6 years ago.  I laughed then.  I laughed even harder last night when I was writing this post, what can I say, I have no maturity.   The world is not coming to an end.   But, if your names are Andrew and Eric it might have already happened.

This is not a buy my stuff statement and I’m not trying to sell you a thing.  For the last 14 years I have been teaching people how to make money.  Something happens in their life and they wake up and say, “I deserve more, I’m going to go out and stake my claim.” It can be a job loss, a death, an over demanding boss / spouse or the inner voice that says I deserve more. I have seen this “stake my claim” desire in people’s eyes, heard it in their voice and have seen their urgency in the body language at my seminars.

I believe the nation suffers from the “double H F” cycle.

You read some great sales copy that’s seems to be written just for you.  You get all excited, the emotions kick in and before you know it your reaching for your Amex card to make the purchase.  You take your new business home and you start to implement it but life gets in the way and soon your business is put on the shelf, never to be heard from again until something happens in your life that causes the “I deserve more” attitude.

The double H F Cycle is you hear the Hype, make the purchase, go Home and implement but Fail.

Now you play the blame game.  So who gets blamed when the above scenario happens, is it the product / course or you?  99% of the time the blame goes to THE PRODUCT / COURSE, when the blame should be placed on you.

There is a small creek that runs through the city park.  Every spring the creek swells a little because of  the snow and rain but this year some expect it to flood.  I took the night vision over there this past weekend so you can see the pre flood.   Make sure you watch in HQ on the bottom right.

Saturday was my wife’s birthday, her 29th (wink wink).  I was going to spend the afternoon with her but she had some clients that needed some urgent help.  I rescheduled the birthday activities for another day and decided to go play.

The prince and I (my son) decided that we would meet some friends for an afternoon of Airsoft Combat and here are a couple of videos for that experience.  Watch in HQ on the bottom right for the highest quality picture.

Quite a few years ago I learned some language from one of my business coaches.  He was teaching me the principle of nibbling.  If you’re not familiar with Roger Dawson, you should.  I like him and I like his stuff.

On this occasion Roger was teaching me how people like to nibble in every type of business deal possible.  Nibbling takes place after a business contract is signed.  One party decides they want to see if they can get just a little be more for their side so they start to nibble or make subtle demands.  Yesterday I got a call from a person who has a signed witnessed and notarized business contract and they proceeded to ask for exclusions to take place.  This is another form of nibbling

Maybe it was the mood, the heat, the day but I became very annoyed.  I was annoyed because these clients stood to make a substantial profit from the deal already, a profit that they would have never received if it weren’t for me, and they had the stones to try and hit me with a nibble technique.

I’m usually not as nice but on this occasion I asked myself what would the great philosopher “Teddy KGB” tell my clients?

If the deal works and your going to make a profit, then “why you so damn cheap?”

Should you cut the negativity out of your universe?  Should you cut the negative people out of your life?  I don’t have the answers for you but this is what I did.

Below is a copy of an email that I sent on May 19th 2009 to some of my brothers in the seminar world.  I changed the name of the company because I don’t want the circle of negativity to continue.  Is this something you would do?

Dear Friends,

Today is a selfish day for me.  I had decided to do a little house cleaning in my life.  As your all aware, I finished my last XYZ Company assignment the first week of February.

From this moment my XZY Company life is over and I will not talk about it again.  I have told many of you that I believe that business is a two way street that consists of mutual respect and just plan common decencies.  I don’t mind “not” being on the schedule but I do mind when you can’t treat me like a big boy and tell me what the hell is going on.

I know a lot of you are pissed, frustrated, concerned, irritated, depressed and looking for answers and we all know you’ll never find them

For this day forward I will no longer engage in any XYZ Company banter!  If you want to call me and talk about the positives in your life, your business successes, your children and family, joint venture ideas or possible deals and partnerships, I would love to hear from you.  If the conversation turns to XYZ Company I will hang up on you.

I look forward to the day when we can share a meal, laugh at those around us and strategize about our financial domination of the world.

The TALF program has a lot of people talking.  I want to know who gets to play in this sandbox?   Is this a program for the tiny investor? Mom and pop players from around the country or is this reserved for the corrupt investment houses on wall street?  Most believe it’s going to be a classic case of the rich get richer and this time they only risk their initial investment.

Do you ever do things for shock and awe?  Try it sometime.  Once I was having an emotional discussion with my wife, that’s the politically correct way to say fight.  For the record we don’t really fight and when we do, I seriously am the one to blame.  (Seriously)

I’ve admitted to having the maturity level of an 8 year old so this story will not come as a surprise.

During this argument I wanted to throw my spouse off her game.  Right when she was making her compelling closing argument I burst into my best Sean Connery impression and said “That’s What Your Mother Said Last Night.”

So to honor Sean, Alex, Kathy, Burt and Tom here is the season finale of SNL.

This is my headline “I hate Jon and Kate!”  So why in the world would I want to waste the energy in my fingers and blog about these two?  RATINGS!

The goal of everyone on the Internet is recognition.  Get recognized, liked, read, liked, subscribed to and then, buy my stuff and maybe along the way I can make you laugh because I said the exact same thing you were thinking.

In my seminars I talk about the human brains attraction to the tragedies of others.  The media understands this, that’s how they have been able to sell their stuff to us for years.  Why, A large percentage of humans are under achievers.  The dreams of a child are replaced with the stress of life. Years have been spent perfecting coping skills?  These skills are the ones used everyday in jobs people can’t stand. And now you know the fascination with reality TV stars like John and Kate.  Its ok we all have this “other life” we dream about becoming.

If you’ve been reading these last couple of days I have this Jesse James thing.  It’s not a man love thing but I think it would be cool to take a bunch of scrape metal and build stuff that people pay a ton of money for.  He’s probably been reading this blog for the last couple of days thinking “man I would really like to write stuff, sign autographs, pose for pictures with old people, make a video or two, “I’d like to have a life like Michael  Acord.”

Sheila E said it best when she said “we all need the glamorous life” but only a few are willing to step out and attempt it.  Why? because of guys and gals like me who poke fun at them.

Here are the reasons why I didn’t want the Jon and Kate plus 8 show on my network.

John if your woman talks down to you while your dating, it’s only going to get worse when you’re married.  You should have gotten out before the herd came it.
